  • Redevelopment site De Trime to start

    A bat tower has been built on the site of the former elementary school De Trime (De Wissel) in Beetsterzwaag. This is the start of the construction of about 24 life-proof homes on this site.

  • City council decides in favor of hosting displaced Ukrainians in the Jasker, Nij Beets

    On April 22, the town council made a positive decision on hosting Ukrainian refugees in former school building the Jasker in Nij Beets.

  • Construction of MFC De Finne continues!

    The town council unanimously approved the construction loan for the realization of the new multifunctional center (MFC) on Vlaslaan in Beetsterzwaag.

  • Smoking and burning ban | Increased risk of wildfires

    There is a smoking and firing ban starting April 2 at noon due to an increased risk of wildfires. There is also a ban on burning Easter fires.

    The Opsterland Municipal Council voted last night on Feb. 24 on the amount of money needed to proceed with the Ikenhiem flow-through location in Beetsterzwaag.

  • Apply for a grant from the Iepen Mienskipsfûns or LEADER program.

    Residents with a good initiative to improve livability can again apply for grants starting March 17.

    The municipality has learned that business owners are being approached for advertisements in the municipal guide. However, the Opsterland municipality does not produce a municipal guide and does not sell advertisements.
