What is municipality of Opsterland committed to?

Opsterland municipality wants a distinctive cultural offering for adults as well as children. The municipality tries to support associations and foundations active in the cultural field as much as possible.

Cultural Education

With cultural education, we encourage children's cultural development. Children learn to express themselves in music, dance and creativity. This contributes to the individual development of children and young people and thus to a powerful and creative society. 

The municipality financially supports the schools to enable Individual Musical Education (IMV) in the classroom. In addition, the culture coach, together with the schools, develops an attractive range of cultural activities so that children are introduced to cultural expressions and activities at an early stage.

Subsidy Culture Events Opsterland

Do you want to organize an activity or event in the field of culture? Then you can apply for the Subsidy for Cultural Events Opsterland.

The municipality supports cultural initiatives with a contribution, to enable the organization of a wide range of larger and smaller cultural events and activities.

The Library

The municipality supports the De Bibliotheken Zuidoost Fryslân with an annual contribution. This allows the library to organize a range of activities. For more, visit: www.bzof.nl

The Museums

Museums are important for telling the story of Opsterland and showing those stories. Because without history, it's a lot harder to understand the present. There are 3 museums in Opsterland, which are supported by the municipality.
