Our organization

Our organization consists of several teams. Each team has its own disciplines, responsibilities and tasks. Some tasks we perform jointly with the municipalities of Weststellingwerf and Ooststellingwerf. We call this the OWO cooperation. On this page you will find more information about how our organization works.

Services

The Services team takes care of people, both internally and externally. The various secretariats support the Municipal Board, the Executive Board and the team managers. The ushers and people from facility services help all employees with practical matters and ensure a safe and pleasant workplace. The employees of the Public Center are the first point of contact for residents: at the reception desk, the counter and the telephone.

Area Team

The Area Team supports vulnerable residents who (temporarily) cannot manage on their own. The implementation of the Participation Act, Youth Act, Municipal Debt Assistance Act, Civic Integration Act and Social Support Act (Wmo) lies with this team. The Area Team works a lot with partners and mostly focuses on prevention.

Corporate Affairs

Within the Concern Affairs team are employees from Finance, Communications, HRM, Project Management Support, Legal Affairs and Operations. These different disciplines each have their own tasks:

  • Finance: steers our financial operations
  • Communication: ensures clear, unified communication in words and images, both internally and externally
  • HRM: engages in the development and implementation of personnel and organizational policies
  • Project management support: oversees the progress of projects and monitors the quality of project work
  • Legal affairs: has an advisory role on legal issues and contributes to procedural due diligence
  • Operations: has an advisory role in the broad field of (OWO) operations and European relations

This team works both policy-wise and executive in the following areas: landscape, environment and sustainability, heat and energy transition, circularity, (social) real estate, educational housing and water policy.

Living and Working

The Housing and Works team provides policy and plan development in the areas of spatial plans, housing, economic affairs, recreation and tourism.
