Village Team

There are 16 villages in Opsterland. Together, we form the Opsterland community. To maintain strong, personal ties between the villages and the municipality, we work with the Village Team. This team collaborates closely with the boards of local interest groups, village halls, volunteer organizations, and other active residents in your neighborhood.

What does the Village Team do?

The Village Team serves as the direct link between your village and City Hall. Among other things, the team does the following:

  • Dedicated Point of Contact: The team serves as the first point of contact for the villages.
  • Staying in touch: The team maintains close contact with Plaatselijk Belang and the village community centers.
  • Connecting Ideas: Do you have any questions or ideas? The Village Team will make sure they reach the right people at City Hall.
  • Keep Informed: The team keeps the villages informed about municipal policies and new developments.
  • Managing Grants: The team manages the “Foar ús Doarp” grant program and the grants for the maintenance of (privatized) village halls.
  • Strengthening the network: The team connects Plaatselijk Belang with other useful organizations, such as Doarpswurk and the province.

Meet the Club Support Specialist

Let me introduce myself:

My name is Amee ten Hoor, and I work in the municipality of Opsterland as a club and association coordinator for Sport Fryslân. In my free time, I like to stay active: I play soccer, ride horses, and enjoy being outdoors.

As a support specialist, I’m here to help clubs and boards that are facing challenges or simply want to bounce ideas off someone. This can cover topics such as volunteers, members, governance issues, or the club’s organization. I also enjoy helping identify opportunities, such as collaboration between organizations and knowledge sharing.

I am a connector: between associations themselves, but also with, for example, local interest groups, community centers, and other organizations.

Want to grab a cup of coffee sometime? Be sure to let us know atamee@sportfryslan.nl or 06 57 36 96 37!

Who is my point of contact?

Each village has its own primary point of contact. The breakdown is as follows:
