Do you want to organize a local or supra-regional activity/event in the field of culture? Then you can apply for Subsidy for Cultural Events Opsterland.

Requirements 

The Opsterland Cultural Events Subsidy Scheme is designed to support initiatives that provide:

  • innovative and broader cultural offerings in the municipality of Opsterland;
  • strengthening the cultural infrastructure in the municipality;
  • contribute to the promotion of the municipality and its attractiveness to its own residents and visitors from outside the municipality.

Depending on the purpose and scope, the grant scheme can be applied for in two ways.

Application Local Activities/Events 

Cultural associations and institutions that organize a local event based on their objective may receive a grant of up to €1,000.00 per activity for this purpose.

Applying for a grant for an activity can be done during two application periods:

  • application period 1: for activities taking place in the period from January 1 to June 30, the application must be received from September 1 to no later than October 31 preceding;
  • application period 2: for activities taking place in the period from July 1 to December 31, applications must be received from March 1 to no later than April 30 preceding.

Each applicant can apply for several activities per application period. An application will only be considered for subsidy if it meets one of the assessment criteria named in article 5 of the subsidy regulation Cultural Events Opsterland 2024. 

The college shall decide on the submitted grant applications within four weeks after the end of the application periods mentioned in the second paragraph. 

A grant application may only be submitted using a digital application form established by the College. Only application forms that are fully completed and received within the application period will be considered.

The subsidy ceilings for the activities mentioned in Articles 6 and 6a (Opsterland Cultural Events Subsidy Scheme) are determined annually by college, which also determines a distribution per application period.

Cultural Events Grant Application

Application Super-regional activities/events

This application process is for large(er) activities/events.

Cultural associations and institutions organizing a supra-regional event may receive a grant for this purpose of 40% of the eligible costs, up to a maximum of €5,000.00 per event.

Applying for a grant for an activity can be done during two application periods:

  • application period 1: for activities taking place in the period from January 1 to June 30, the application must be received from September 1 to no later than October 31 preceding;
  • application period 2: for activities taking place in the period from July 1 to December 31, applications must be received from March 1 to no later than April 30 preceding.

For the "Application for Subsidy for Cultural Events - Local and Upper Regional," there are two application periods per year. 

  • application period 1: for activities taking place in the period from January 1 to June 30, the application must be received from September 1 to no later than October 31 preceding;
  • application period 2: for activities taking place in the period from July 1 to December 31, applications must be received from March 1 to no later than April 30 preceding.

The grant scheme is not intended for:

  • applications for a "mienskips" activity (village festival, King's Day, etc.)
  • applications from a non-cultural association or institution (sports associations, village interests, businesses, recreational/tourist institutions, education, etc.)
  • applications for a commercial event, with a cultural angle (e.g. pop concerts and festivals)
