Opsterland Sustainability Days
August 24, 2026
From Thursday, September 17, through Saturday, September 19, the municipality of Opsterland is organizing the Sustainability Days in Beetsterzwaag and Bakkeveen.
A hot meal and help with saving energy
April 1, 2026
On Monday, March 30, the municipality of Opsterland organized its first “Buurthappie” event. Residents of the village gathered at the Langezwaag community center for a free hot meal and information on energy conservation.
Recommendation to use an alternative to UF foam for insulation 
March 26, 2026
The municipal health services are advising homeowners and housing authorities to opt for an alternative material for insulating cavity walls for the time being.
