Direct Debit Problem: If you requested direct debit at the end of last year, it may not have been processed yet. Due to the technical glitch we are having this has not been processed properly on your assessment notice.

The first amortization will take place at the end of March. We assume that it has been resolved. However, if it turns out that it has not, we would like to hear from you.

Digital tax assessment

As a resident of Opsterland, do you still receive your municipal tax assessment on paper? If so, you can choose to receive assessments digitally.

WOZ value and valuation

Every year, the municipality assesses the value of your house, business premises or land. This is called the WOZ value. The WOZ value is the basis for determining the property tax (OZB) and fees to be paid by the state and water board.

The WOZ value, which the municipality determines, is the value that the house or other immovable property had on January 1 of the year prior to this decision. We call this the reference date.

WOZ value desk

The municipality has a legal obligation to give you insight into the WOZ values of all homes. The National Provision WOZ (LV WOZ) is the national office for viewing WOZ values. The office gives you online insight into the WOZ values of homes throughout the Netherlands.

Paying tax assessment

What you have to pay is listed on the annual assessment. The municipality sends the assessment each year starting in February.

Objecting municipal taxes and/or WOZ value

You may disagree with a municipal tax you have to pay or with the WOZ value of your home, business premises or plot of land. You can lodge an objection.

Municipal tax waiver application

If you have an income at the assistance level, you can apply for remission of municipal taxes.

Property tax (OZB).

Are you the owner of an owner-occupied home, commercial building or plot of land, or the user of commercial premises? Every year you pay property tax (OZB) to the municipality for this.

Waste tax

The municipality, through Omrin, collects garbage from all households every week. You pay waste collection fees for collecting and processing the waste, even if you never deliver your waste.

Sewer charge

Is your home connected directly or indirectly to the municipal sewer system? Then you pay sewerage charges.
