Requirements
Whether you are granted relief depends on your income and assets and possibly those of your partner. In the calculation, the municipality also takes into account the number of roommates (over the age of 27) with whom you can share expenses. This is the 'cost sharing standard'.
Waiver is possible if:
- The income is equal to or lower than the social minimum.
- There is no question of assets such as:
- A home with equity.
- A car worth more than €3,350, unless that car is essential for your work or due to disability.
- Ownership or assets in capital/life insurance, shares, or securities.
- The balance of all bank and savings accounts does not exceed a certain amount, depending on your living situation.
- You do not have multiple license plates registered in your name.
