    We have been receiving reports lately about insulation companies going door-to-door. They talk about insulation measures and subsidies, and sometimes say that you are entitled to municipal subsidies. This is not always true.

  • Opsterland election results adjusted

    On Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, the municipal polling station adjusted Opsterland's election results.

  • New municipal polling place session on Nov. 5

    Tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 5), the Opsterland Municipal Voting Committee will hold a recount. The session is at the town hall in Beetsterzwaag and is open to the public.

  • Opsterland sustainability weekend was a success

    From Thursday, October 9 through Saturday, October 11, the municipality of Opsterland was dedicated to sustainability weekend. Together with the Duurzaam Bouwloket and housing corporations Elkien and WoonFriesland, we helped residents in Gorredijk and Ureterp with free advice and practical help to make their homes more energy efficient.

  • Work on N392 Tijnje - Terwispel

    Between December 2025 and February 2026, trees will be removed and new ones planted along the provincial road N392 between Tijnje and Terwispel.

  • More housing opportunities for Wijnjewoude: start construction project on former school site

    October 2, 2025, the first official draw for project-based lots in Opsterland took place. The winners will now realize eight homes on the former school site It Twaspan in Wijnjewoude.

  • Flowers for new Dutchmen

    For 23 residents of Opsterland, Wednesday, September 24, was a special day. They may now call themselves Dutch citizens or citizens of the Netherlands.

  • Family fun Friday on Oct. 17

    From October 13 to 19, the Week of Parenting is being organized throughout the Netherlands. During this week, parents and children or adolescents do fun things together. This year the theme is: Puzzling Together. Opsterland also participates, so come together and join in! Participation is free.
