Background of the methodology
All municipalities in the Netherlands have been instructed by the central government to infringe housing and education projects for the next 10 years Map to bring about. With this inventory, grid operators (such as Liander) gain faster insight into the expected demand for electricity. This allows them to better take this into account when planning and allocating the available capacity on the power grid.
The 'apply for electricity connection earlier' procedure applies exclusively to new-build homes (from a single home up to and including an entire residential area) and educational housing.
