The municipality of Opsterland, together with the Dutch Labour Inspectorate, Liander and the police, conducted a joint enforcement action at several catering establishments in the municipality on Thursday.
The shovel can go in the ground: construction of 40 new rental homes in Gorredijk is about to begin. The municipality is pleased that after a completed objection procedure, the way is clear to realize the houses.

From September 8 to 19, 2025, the international military exercise Falcon Leap will take place. Parts of the exercise will also be held in the municipality of Opsterland.
