Apply for a grant from the Iepen Mienskipsfûns or LEADER program.

Residents with a good initiative to improve the quality of life in the municipalities of Heerenveen, Ooststellingwerf, Opsterland, Smallingerland or Weststellingwerf can apply for a subsidy from the Iepen Mienskipsfûns or the LEADER program from March 17 to April 10. With a contribution from one of these subsidy schemes, the province of Fryslân makes initiatives from the mienskip possible.

Through the Iepen Mienskipsfûns, the province makes a one-time subsidy available for initiatives originating from society. Think for example of initiatives in the field of liveability, culture, nature, welfare or sports.
A project can be granted a one-time maximum subsidy of € 50,000.

What is LEADER?

LEADER is a European grant program for strengthening rural areas. It involves larger projects set up and implemented by residents, entrepreneurs and organizations themselves. An initiative must connect to the theme New energy of and for agriculture, New energy for each other or New energy for the landscape.
More information about both subsidy schemes can be found at www.fryslan.frl/mienskip.

Do you have a good idea for improving livability in Southeast Fryslân?

If so, you will soon be able to present your idea to the advisory committee that advises the province on both grant programs. This evening you can also have a conversation with the members of this advisory committee. This way you can improve your idea, in order to then submit a subsidy application to the Iepen Mienskipfûns or LEADER.

When: Monday, March 3, 2025 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. (walk-in from 7:15 p.m.)
Where: MFA Mejander, Willinge Prinsstraat 24, 8421 PE in Oldeberkoop

You can register by sending an e-mail to zuidoost@fryslan.frl no later than Thursday, Feb. 27. Also for questions about this meeting, the Iepen Mienskipsfûns or LEADER you can go there. Register in time, because there is room for a limited number of initiators to present their idea.
