Vote counting is top sport

12:00 p.m. | March 16, 2023

The sports hall in De Wier: normally a place where people work up a sweat, form teams, run around, coach, and are coached. Then they return home tired but satisfied. And actually, today is no different. Today is all about top-level sport!

There is a lot of running around with crates full of ballots and other paperwork. But it's also quite a workout for the brain: ballot by ballot, everything is counted, recorded, and processed, before moving on to the next stack. Small teams perform their tasks with complete concentration, coached here and there by the coordinating staff. Sometimes they take a moment to catch their breath, have something to eat or drink... and then get back to work. Finally, later that day, they go home tired but satisfied.
