Traffic controllers at events
Traffic controllers may be deployed at both events requiring a permit and those that do not. To do so, they must first complete an online course. Upon successful completion, they will receive a personal certification of training. The organization can then download a Traffic Controller Deployment List from the website.
With the course certificate, the organization can request that the mayor officially appoint the individuals as traffic controllers. An appointment decision is drawn up for this purpose. Only with this appointment are traffic controllers authorized to give directions on public roads and are they covered by insurance in the event of an emergency.
Traffic directions may not be given without proper authorization. In the event of an incident, this can have serious consequences for both the traffic controller and the organizer.
