The Municipality of Opsterland owns 6 cemeteries. These cemeteries contain many grave monuments of cultural-historical value. The municipality wants to make a list of these valuable grave monuments, together with the people who are entitled. Unfortunately, we do not know who the rightful owner is of a number of grave monuments. Therefore, we are looking for this information. This way we can update our records and better ensure the preservation of the valuable grave monuments in our cemeteries.
What is a rights holder
A rightful claimant is a person, or body, who owns the right to a grave and who determines what may happen to the grave and who may be buried in it. The rights holder is also responsible for the maintenance of the grave and its associated grave monument or memorial.

At the bottom of this page are lists of all graves whose rightful owner is unknown to us.
