Voting card, voter ID and proxy

In order to vote, you need a voting pass. At least 2 weeks before the election you will receive your voting card at the address where you are registered. Do you want to vote outside Opsterland? With a voter card you can vote throughout the Netherlands. Are you unable to come to a polling station yourself? Then you can authorize someone else.

You can use your voting pass at all polling stations in Opsterland. Did you not receive a voting pass or did you lose your voting pass? Then you can apply for a replacement voting pass. At this moment it is not yet possible to apply for a replacement voting pass.

Voter card: to vote nationwide

Do you want to vote outside the municipality of Opsterland? You can. You can convert your voting pass into a voter's card. With a voter card you can vote throughout the Netherlands.

Proxy: to have someone else vote on your behalf

Sometimes you cannot go to the polling station yourself, for example because of illness, vacation or work. You can have someone else vote for you. This is called proxy voting. The person you authorize can only cast your vote at the same time as his or her own.
