There is an industrial lot in the northern part of Nij Beets. The former business recently relocated, and the commercial lot has fallen into disuse. Real estate developer Kuin has proposed a plan to build 23 homes on the site and has submitted a zoning amendment to that effect. The zoning amendment was adopted on November 11, 2025, and became final on January 15, 2026. The plot is located within the existing urban area.
