Young people up to age 23 without a starting qualification
With a diploma at at least MBO 2 or havo level, you increase your chances of getting a job.
Diploma at at least mbo2 or havo level
Are you between the ages of 18 and 23 and do not yet have a diploma? Then you are no longer subject to compulsory education, but we do encourage you to obtain a diploma at least at MBO2 or havo level, which is called a starting qualification. For this you can follow daytime education or forms of education that combine learning and working. With a basic qualification you increase your chances of finding a good job and earning your own income.
Without a starting qualification and truancy
First, someone from your school tries to get in touch with you to stop your truancy. If this does not work, the school official will call you for an interview. Together with you and your education, the obligatory education officer will discuss the possibilities of obtaining a basic qualification.
Note!
If you continue to play truant, the school may deregister you. In that case, you will lose the right to study financing and a public transport annual card. The Education Executive Agency (DUO) can reclaim study financing.
Questions
If you have questions about this or are unable to come to school because you may have problems, discuss it with someone from your program or contact Compulsory Education. We are happy to help you on your way to a promising future.
