Damage in Opsterland
Mayor Andries Bouwman looks back on New Year's Eve with a predominantly positive view: "Almost everywhere in Opsterland, New Year's Eve was festive and peaceful. It is therefore disappointing to note that incidents did occur in Gorredijk and that a lot of damage was caused. Damage to public spaces affects us all, because we are all responsible for them. It is also completely unacceptable that emergency workers, the police, and a municipal employee were pelted with fireworks while they were working. Everyone should be able to do their job safely. We are currently carefully Map all the damage Map will, where possible, recover the costs from those responsible."
