Terwispel village support center

Terwispel, like most villages in Opsterland, has a village support center. You can go to the village support center for help and temporary support. For example if you are (temporarily) unable to do your own shopping or walk the dog. Or if you need to fill out difficult forms or have transportation problems. Do you need a listening ear, a walk or a nice chat? You are also welcome at the village support center.

This is how the village support center works:

The Terwispel village support center is part of Plaatselijk Belang and consists of a working group and neighborhood contact persons. There is regular contact with the Area Team of the municipality. The village support point helps residents with questions or problems in all kinds of areas. Your questions are always treated confidentially. We first look for a solution within the village, with the help of volunteers. Is that not possible or is professional help needed? Then we refer you to the Area Team or another institution.

The Terwispel village support center can be contacted at this email address dorpssteunpuntterwispel@gmail.com

Examples of questions to the village support center:

  • I am having trouble with forms. Is there anyone who can help me?
  • I would like to talk, bike or walk with someone from time to time. With whom can I do that?
  • Where can I ask questions about my adolescent teen's alcohol and drug use?
  • I am new to the village and would like to join something. What is there to do?
  • Due to illness or old age, I can no longer do my yard work. Who can help me?
  • I cannot take public transportation but still want to visit my family. What is possible?
  • I need a wheelchair temporarily. Where can I get one?
  • I don't understand the bill for 'co-payment'. Who can help me?
  • How do I get home care if I need it?

Activities and meetings

The Village Support Center organizes information meetings for neighborhood contacts and/or residents of the village. These meetings cover a variety of topics. For example, about how to continue living at home as long as possible as you get older. More information about the meetings can be found in the village newspaper. Of course, the community contacts will also be happy to tell you more about the activities in the village!

Do you have questions that a professional should answer?

If so, you can also contact the Area Team directly.
