Flowers for new Dutchmen
For 23 residents of Opsterland, Wednesday, September 24, was a special day. They may now call themselves Dutch citizens or citizens of the Netherlands. Mayor Andries Bouwman presented them with the Declaration of Allegiance during a festive gathering at the Lycklamahûs in Beetsterzwaag.
The mayor wished all good luck and a bright future in Opsterland. He encouraged everyone to join club life in the villages where they live.
