Valuation criteria cultural-historical valuable grave monuments
On this page you will find the Valuation Criteria for assessing cultural-historically valuable grave monuments.
The valuation criteria for assessing grave monuments that may represent cultural-historical value consist of a few categories, summarized as follows:
- Biographical significance of the buried person;
- Age of grave monument > 30 years;
- Material use and handling;
- Design of the monument;
- Special symbolism;
- Appropriate to the character of the burial field;
- Technical condition.
As an additional criterion it has been requested to pay extra attention to grave monuments on which the Frisian language is used. Within the parts to be inventoried this will be taken into account. Attention has also been paid to inhabitants of the municipality with a Moluccan background, possibly referring to the KNIL time in the Dutch East Indies.
