Become a volunteer or search

When people think of volunteering, they quickly think of visiting the sick or running errands. But there is so much more to do, there is volunteer work for young and old. Whether you have much or little time. Just look around you and see what is happening thanks to volunteering.

A small selection: organizing the neighborhood barbecue, being a DJ for young people at the youth center, being a team coach at the sports club, being a board member at an association, organizing activities for children, being a reading mother/father at school, taking care of animals at the animal shelter. These are just a few examples.

To the letter of the law, it is impossible to say exactly what is and is not volunteer work. Volunteer work is work for which no payment is made, although a small compensation may be possible.

Village Support Centers

There are village support centers in almost every village in the municipality of Opsterland. You can go here with all kinds of questions, but also if you need someone to help you temporarily with, for example, mowing the grass.
