Loaning signs and beaconing
The municipality of Opsterland no longer rents out traffic and safety signs for commercial or private events, such as competitions, markets, and fairs.

The municipality of Opsterland no longer rents out traffic and safety signs for commercial or private events, such as competitions, markets, and fairs.
In the past, the municipality rented out this equipment at low rates. These prices no longer reflect what companies typically charge.
Furthermore, renting out signs is not a statutory duty of the municipality. That is why the decision was made to discontinue this service.
By discontinuing this service, commercial companies will have more opportunities to offer their services and products. In addition, the municipality will be able to focus more effectively on its own responsibilities.
The municipality makes an exception for activities with a clear social character. These include national holidays and days of remembrance such as King’s Day, Remembrance Day(s), and Liberation Day(s),
These days contribute to national unity, collective memory, and the shared celebration of freedom.
