Twaspan, Wijnjewoude

The former elementary school the Twaspan in Wijnjewoude merged a number of years and passed into the adjacent building the Sinnewizer. Together with Plaatselijk Belang it has been agreed to further develop this area for housing. There is a great need for housing in Wijnjewoude and the demolition of the school and the construction of 8 new semi-detached houses will meet this need. The municipality owns this area.

In spring 2024, the plan procedure was completed to change the zoning for new residential construction. We are expected to begin demolition of the school in the fall of 2024 and then prepare the site for construction.

Preliminary planning

  • Q4 2024: start demolition of school
  • Q1 2025: make site ready for construction
  • Q2 2025: sale of the lots 
  • Q4 2025: connection to new NUTS infrastructure and residential preparation
