Terwispel Kolderveen phase 2

In the Terwispel - Residential Extension Kolderveen zoning plan adopted May 7, 2024, the plan area has a residential zoning with the possibility of building 26 homes here.
The Moai Wenplak Terwispel Foundation (SMWT) is developing the Kolderveen phase 2 area. The Kolderveen phase 2 planning area has been included as a key project in the Southeast Friesland Regional Housing Deal. The land is owned by the municipality of Opsterland. The municipality has prepared the site for construction. SMWT will purchase all the plots from the municipality and will sell or develop them itself, with priority given to local residents.
Housing:
Completed: 10 terraced houses (for sale, under €250,000 costs payable by buyer).
Remaining construction program:
- 6 homes (zero-step homes, purchase price above €420,000 (costs payable by buyer))
- 4 semi-detached owner-occupied homes (under €420,000, costs payable by buyer)
- 6 social housing units (nultredenwoningen) with 'living room house'
Planning:
- 2026 to 2028: completion of remaining construction program

News update - March 11, 2026
On Tuesday, March 10, the purchase agreement for the second phase of Kolderveen was signed. This allows the Moai Wenplak Terwispel Foundation (SMWT) to continue the further development of the area.
In the phasing for 2026, two plots will be developed, on which a total of four semi-detached owner-occupied homes will be built (maximum €420,000, 2026 price level).
Chairman Janco van der Werf, secretary Hetty Visser, and Alderman van Opzeeland were present at the signing.
