Driving License
Will your driving license expire soon? You can easily renew your driving license through the website of the National Road Transport Agency (RDW). Have you passed your driving test? Then make an appointment at the Public Center to apply for your first driving license. A driving license is usually valid for ten years.
License renewal online
You can easily renew your driving license online via the RDW website. You then only need to come by to pick up the new license(by appointment). This can be done after only two working days.
Stop by to apply for a driver's license
To apply for a driver's license for the first time, you must stop by the Public Center. Also, to renew a missing driver's license, you must always come to City Hall. Do you want to renew your driver's license or add a category? Then you can also easily arrange this online.

- A valid proof of identity (driver's license, passport or identity card).

Do you need the driving license urgently? It is possible to apply for an urgent driver's license. You can then pick up the license within 2 business days. There are additional costs associated with this urgent procedure.
Driver's license lost or stolen?
If your driver's license is missing or stolen, you do not have to report it to the police. You do need to report it when you apply for a new driver's license. We will then block your driver's license and make a Declaration of Loss. Once signed, you can reapply for a driver's license. Applying for a missing driver's license cannot be done online, so you must Make an appointment an appointment to visit us. You can , however, report the loss online to the RDW. Medical examination
In some cases, you must undergo a medical examination before you can renew your driver's license:
- If you have a driver's license C, D, CD or DE.
- If you are over 70 and your current driver's license expires when you are 75 or older. In this case, you will get a driver's license that is valid for 5 years.
- If you are 75 years of age or older.
Logging in online with your driver's license
Have you picked up your driver's license? Then you will receive a letter with a DigiD PIN within five working days. This is because since July 1, 2023 you can use your driving license to log in online. For example, with government websites or official bodies. With the pin code in the letter you can activate this function. You choose whether you want this or not. Did you not receive the letter?
