Advertising Tax
Entrepreneurs in Gorredijk pay advertising tax if they have advertising that is visible from the road. For example, for a logo on the building or an advertising sign on the sidewalk.
Gorredijk Entrepreneurship Fund
The WHI and OKO from Gorredijk have asked the municipality to start an entrepreneurial fund with the aim of giving new impulses to the economic functioning of the center area. This fund will be financially fed with the proceeds of the advertising tax. The city council has agreed to this. For the management of the funds, Stichting Ondernemersfonds Gorredijk has been established.
With the money from the fund, business associations in the center organize all kinds of activities, e.g. St. Nicholas parade, promotion mutual actions, lighting and flower boxes center etc.

The amount of the advertising tax depends on the WOZ value of the commercial part of the property.

Payment of assessment
The back of the assessment notice indicates how to pay the assessment. If you have authorized the municipality to have the taxes automatically debited from your account, this also applies to this assessment. The debit is made at the end of the month. If you do not use direct debit, you can use the information on the assessment.
Waiver
You cannot get a waiver for the advertising tax.

The proceeds of the advertising tax go almost entirely (as a municipal subsidy) to the Gorredijk Entrepreneurs Fund Foundation. The foundation uses the subsidy for joint events and activities in Gorredijk.
