Public Space / Civil Engineering Project Manager

HBO I € 6,308 I annual contract with a prospect of indefinite duration I 36 hours

You start the day with a visit to one of your current projects; a new movable bridge in Gorredijk. Together with the foreman you watch the design come to life in real life, even more beautiful than on paper. Later that day you sit in the work café with two colleagues; the sewer manager and your supervisor. Opinions are divided about replacing an old section of sewer in Beetsterzwaag. After a good discussion, the choice is clear: it will be relining after all. In between you meet colleagues, share experiences and learn from each other. You switch between making plans, monitoring progress and making connections. At the end of the day you drive home with the feeling that together you have made a real difference to the countryside and the people who live there.

What will you do?

As an experienced project manager, you will be responsible for the outcome of our public space projects, from wet and dry infrastructure to small-scale village facilities. You supervise projects from start to finish, keeping an overview and thinking ahead about possible challenges. You manage the organization, coordination, planning, contracts and finances, continuously monitoring quality and safety.

You are visible to colleagues, administrators, residents and partners. You connect, involve the environment and ensure that projects run smoothly and professionally. You will move naturally in a political-administrative environment, where you give clear advice and actively promote the vision of your projects.

You work as a generalist: sometimes deep in the details, sometimes directing on main lines. And always with an eye for the whole.

In our team, we seek each other out, learn from each other's projects and put our shoulders to the wheel together. This cooperation and pleasant working atmosphere make this work not only challenging, but also enjoyable.

Here's what we offer you

  • Attractive terms of employment; an attractive salary according to scale 11 of the Cao Gemeenten (max.
€ 6,308 gross per month for full-time employment) an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17.05%, travel allowance, a pension plan through ABP and discounts on various insurances.
  • A varied job; one day you are working on a redevelopment of the center of Ureterp and the next day on the construction of a bicycle path in the outskirts of the municipality of Opsterland.
  • Plenty of opportunities to develop through training, courses and workshops.
  • Room for your ideas; if you think things can be done differently we are open to that.
  • Excellent work/life balance; we will provide you with a laptop and a cell phone so you can work from home as well as in the office.
  • Attention to your vitality; participation in our vitality program, annual multiple activities with the entire organization and team, and a fun work café!

Who are you?
