Policy advisor for refugees and integration

At nine o'clock you step into City Hall. Even before your coat is off, you are in a consultation on the refugee transit site. Your input is crucial to taking the final steps. At the coffee machine, you think along with a colleague from Spatial Planning about a bottleneck. That rapid switching and cooperation gives you energy. Then you consult with the Team Manager Integration about the free travel pass, which allows newcomers to literally and figuratively get ahead.
During lunch you walk through the woods with colleagues, space for serious discussions and socializing.
In the afternoon you prepare the meeting with the mayor together with the strategic advisor. Afterwards, you take notes and answer emails. It was another dynamic working day in which you constantly switch between policy, practice and people. When you close your laptop, you do so with a satisfied feeling: today you really made a difference.
What will you do?
In this position you keep the policy around refugees and integration focused and Health that plans actually come to fruition. You write proposals and advice for administrators and the city council and are involved in the transit locations. Together with the location coordinator you Health that everything runs smoothly.
You contribute to a good social guidance and housing of status holders and interact with neighboring municipalities, regional partners, the province, COA and housing corporations to reach workable agreements together. You work closely with the refugee and communication cluster.
In addition, you follow national and regional developments and translate them into policy that suits the municipality. You pick up signals and experiences from practice and ensure that policy is in line with what residents and newcomers really need. You will also contribute to initiatives that help newcomers find their place faster, for example in the areas of language, work and participation.
You have an active role in contacting residents. You communicate policies clearly, involve residents in new initiatives and encourage participation so that everyone can participate and feels welcome.
In short, in this position you combine policy, implementation and contact with people and make a real difference in the lives of newcomers and in society.
