Civil engineering work planner
HBO I €5,850 I Three years I 32-36 hours
You park your car on the outskirts of Beetsterzwaag and walk through the woods to the town hall. Inside there is a great project waiting for you: together with your colleagues you will work on the specifications for asphalt maintenance. You see where things can be done smarter and more sustainably, are brimming with ideas and tackle it energetically. That afternoon, you sit down with a cappuccino with a traffic colleague to discuss a technical drawing for a parking extension. You translate the ideas at lightning speed into a practical design and accurate specifications. With your technical insight and approach, you realize projects that are really visible outside. You combine designing, drawing and thinking about contracts, with a direct impact on the living environment. Every day is varied, challenging in terms of content and full of responsibility.
What will you do?
As an all-round civil engineering planner, you are the lynchpin behind the projects in Opsterland's public spaces. You translate ideas and wishes of managers and project leaders into clear designs and well thought-out RAW specifications for civil engineering. You take on simple projects independently; for more complex work you direct external agencies and monitor quality and planning. You are a strong interlocutor who knows what is going on outside and responds with technical insight.
You work with programs such as CIVIEL RAW (Bakker & Spees), GwwBestek or AutoCAD, combining professional knowledge with a down-to-earth approach. You also work easily in AutoCAD or similar drawing software and have broad knowledge of contract forms.
As a sole specifier and one of the few draftsmen, you will deal with a wide variety of projects, which makes for great variety and responsibility. In our team you will have room to work independently, but also experience the power of collaboration. You will work closely with project leaders, supervisors, the road manager and our procurement consultant. You will help each other, share knowledge and learn continuously. If there is a quieter period, you will gladly use your technical knowledge to support colleagues in other activities.
