Easter Bonfire Locations 2026

We celebrate Easter in April. A lovely tradition in our community is the lighting of the Easter bonfire. This year, too, several locations have received permission to light a bonfire.

Normally, it is not permitted to light fires outdoors. This is to protect nature and public safety. We make an exception for Easter bonfires. However, organizers must follow certain rules. For example, the pile of brushwood must not be taller than 8 meters, and there must be sufficient distance from buildings and roads.

Where are the Easter bonfires?

The municipality has issued permits for the following locations:

  • Bakkeveen: Mandefjild 4
  • Frieschepalen: 't Tolhek 4
  • Lippenhuizen: Trijehoek 13
  • Siegerswoude: across from Binnenwei 19
  • Siegerswoude: Binnenwei 23

Helpful tips for visitors

Are you planning to watch an Easter bonfire? Then read these tips for a fun and safe evening:

  • Keep your distance: For your own safety, stay at least 20 meters away from the fire. The heat can be intense.
  • Watch out for the wind: Wear sturdy clothing. The wind may cause ash or sparks to land on your clothes.
  • Follow instructions: The organizers are responsible for safety. Always follow their instructions and those of the fire department.
  • Please check the weather forecast: In very dry conditions or strong winds, the municipality may decide to cancel the bonfire. If in doubt, keep an eye on local announcements.

No more new applications

The application period for Easter bonfires has now ended. Applications for exemptions were accepted through March 13. Do you have any questions about Easter bonfires? Please contact the municipality.

We wish everyone a happy and safe Easter!
