Apply for public charging station for electric cars
There are special charging stations for electric cars. You can find these at public parking lots, for example. These fully charge electric or hybrid cars within 3 to 7 hours. This is much faster than charging through a wall socket because the connection and plug are different. The municipality of Opsterland would like to participate in the national network of public charging stations. This also contributes to our sustainability ambition.

Requirements
The charging station will be installed by TotalEnergies. You must comply with these Requirements :
- You live or work in the municipality of Opsterland
- You demonstrably live or work at least 18 hours per week in the municipality of Opsterland
- You have an electric car (soon) and can prove this by means of a (provisional) purchase or lease contract, proof of ownership or similar document. NOTE: A registration certificate is not valid for the application. If you add it instead of a purchase or lease contract, the application will be rejected.
- There is no public charging station in your area (maximum 250 m walking distance from application address). If there is a charging station in your area, we will check whether this charging station is often used. If this is not the case, your application will be rejected on the grounds that there is already a charge point in your area.
- If it is an application for a charging station in a permit or dispensation area, you can prove that you have a parking permit or parking dispensation.
Would you like to apply for a charging station? Then go to www.laadpaalnodig.nl. The application will go to TotalEnergies. They handle all applications and are responsible for the placement and operation of public charging stations in the municipality of Opsterland.
We work with TotalEnergies to see if it is possible to install the charging station. We take into account for example the distribution over the municipality, findability and parking pressure in the area. In between, you will receive a message from TotalEnergies about the process.
Once the charging station is installed and tested, you will receive a final message. You can use the charging station from then on.
How long does it take?
It takes about 4 months for the charging station to be installed. We will do our best to place the charging station as soon as possible.
TIP: Are there more people in the neighborhood who drive electric? Ask if they also submit a request. This will give us a better idea of the need.
Cost
The charging stations are public and therefore they are free. They are owned by the provider and therefore not by the municipality or you. Charging does cost money and can be done with a charging card. There are several companies that offer subscriptions for this purpose.

Click here for all locations with public charging stations. At the charging stations there is a blue sign with a white P and the text: 'Charging electric vehicles'. Only electric and hybrid cars connected to the charging station may park there. You cannot reserve a charging station.
