Neighborhood meeting

A neighborhood meeting was organized by the school, childcare organization and the soccer club in July 2024. During this neighborhood meeting, the VO (Preliminary Design) was presented to local residents and parents/caregivers of the children. In addition, special attention was paid to traffic and parking around the new MFC.

The preliminary draft

The preliminary design is not yet sufficient for the permit application. For this, all components must first be definitively coordinated. During the VO, the construction method is determined, the materials chosen and how the building can be built efficiently figured out.

The following points were incorporated into the VO:

• Architectural drawings (situation, floor plans, facades, sections)
• Wall and roof structure are specified
• The construction methodology is incorporated into the drawings
• 3D visualizations now include proper materialization and shapes.

The final design

• The VO is now being developed into a Final Design (DO). In the final design, the materials to be used are determined. The wall structure is fixed, along with the dimensions of the building. The materials will be further specified as will the drawings.
• Architect chooses all final materials
• The installation consultant chooses all installations and elaborates them on (3D) drawings.
• The structural engineer goes to work on these drawings to calculate the load-bearing capacity of the structure in the building.
• Based on the final material, plant and structural designs, the building physics consultant can get to work on the necessary calculations of: 

1. Ventilation moisture and indoor environment
2. Daylight and artificial light
3. Acoustics
4. Fire Safety
5. Sustainability and energy

• The municipality receives the final design for the environmental permit. 

Planning

If all goes well, the contractor will be selected in early 2025 and construction will then start in the second half of 2025, which will take about a year.
