Your day, exactly the way you want it
This special day is all about you. You can get married almost anywhere; all you need is a marriage officiant. Or, as I prefer to say: a wedding officiant. That sounds a lot more personal than “special civil registrar.” In the municipality of Opsterland, I’ve had the pleasure of fulfilling that role (since 2016), for example at the beautiful Lycklamahûs in Beetsterzwaag, Lauswolt, Sparjebird, or your own venue.

To create a ceremony that truly reflects who you are, I’d love to visit you at home. We’ll talk about your story: how you met, what brings you together, your family, relatives, friends, work, hobbies, and everything that’s important to you. Based on that, I’ll write a personalized speech that truly captures who you are—with room for a smile, a tear, and, above all, plenty of humor and love.
Love, just like nature, has its seasons. That’s why I tailor the ceremony entirely to your wishes. The most beautiful moment, of course, is the heartfelt“I do” with which you begin a new chapter together. It’s a privilege to be able to contribute to that.

My name isMaaija de Roos; I was born in Kollumerzwaag and live in Oosterwolde. I am married, a mother, and I love people, animals, and nature. I have been working in the financial sector since 1984, where trust is paramount. I also enjoy advocating for nature and culture. In my free time, I enjoy wine and fine dining, reading, horseback riding, boating, and riding my motorcycle.
My curiosity about people and their stories led me to become a wedding officiant. Friends often say,“It’s the perfect fit for you.” And that’s exactly how it feels. I listen, connect, and tell your story in a way that reflects who you are. I’m happy to do this in Dutch, Frisian, German, or English. Together, we’ll make your ceremony a memory to cherish forever.
