Kortezwaag Sports Center
In July 2023, the City Council approved the plans for Kortezwaag Sports Center. Kortezwaag's existing sports hall will be renovated and made more sustainable. A new second sports hall will be added at the front, replacing the existing sports hall at De Skâns. The plan also means making swimming pool De Delte more sustainable and redesigning the public space around the sports and leisure center.
Construction work has now started. Friso Bouwgroep is carrying out the work and they are working closely with Lammerink Installatiegroep on the construction of the renovated Kortezwaag.

Parking
Because of the construction work, the parking lot is largely set up as a construction site. Loading and unloading will take place inside the construction fences. Because of this, fewer parking spaces are temporarily available. In order to provide sufficient parking spaces, the new parking facility next to 'de Flambou' will be set up.
Parking ban
To ensure a safe traffic situation during the construction process, a temporary parking ban has been introduced on the Mientewei. At the moment, parking is only allowed on the side of care center 'De Miente'. This is also indicated on the traffic signs.
