I am turning 18, what do I need to take care of?
When you turn 18, you have to start managing a number of things on your own.
Your parent(s) will no longer receive child support, and things will also change in your health insurance. You were always insured through one of your parents, but from the age of 18 you have to arrange your own health insurance. You can also apply for care allowance from the age of 18. For this you need a DigiD. If you are going to study, you can apply for study financing. And if you plan to live on your own, it is useful to register now with a housing association.
