City council decides in favor of hosting displaced Ukrainians in the Jasker, Nij Beets

On April 22, the town council made a positive decision on hosting Ukrainian refugees in former school building the Jasker in Nij Beets.

What does this mean?

The community can now get to work on the simple conversion of the property so that we can house 25 people. The building will have shared facilities such as the kitchen and plumbing. In addition, each household will have its own bedroom so that there is also enough privacy. The renovation will begin soon and take about three months. So we expect to welcome the first residents in September.

Our mission as a congregation

In Opsterland, we are tasked with hosting Ukrainian displaced persons. The war in Ukraine has not ended and refugees are still coming in. Therefore, every municipality has to create more reception places. So in Opsterland we can now use the Jasker for this temporary shelter.
