Guest of the Council

Are you curious about what council members do and how the City Council works? Or have you always wanted to attend a council meeting? The Opsterland municipal council would like to introduce residents to the political administration of the municipality. The council also wants to show what its work entails. Therefore, the council offers you the opportunity, as a special "Guest of the Council" before and during the council meeting, to take a look into the political kitchen of Opsterland.

Program Guest of the Council

You and the other guests will be received at City Hall around 6 p.m. on the evening of the council meeting. In advance, you will receive the agenda and council meeting documents at home. You will eat a sandwich with some council members while an explanation of council work is given. The agenda of the council meeting is discussed together and of course there is room to ask questions. If there is time, you will also be given a short tour of the town hall. After this introduction, you will take your seats in reserved seats in the public gallery of the council chamber to attend the council meeting. After the meeting, you can chat with council members, the mayor and aldermen.
