Drachten-Azeven
In the economic field, the municipalities of Opsterland and Smallingerland are working together. The Drachten-Azeven business park is a result of this.
This business park is strategically located on the A7 motorway at the intersection with the N31 (Wâldwei). Business park Drachten-Azeven Zuid is located on the territory of the Municipality of Opsterland. There you can find medium and high-tech manufacturing companies, wholesale, transport and distribution companies. Plot sizes range from 5000 m2 to 5 ha. Business park Azeven-Noord is located in the territory of Smallingerland. Exploitation of the business park is in the hands of Exploitatiemaatschappij Bedrijvenpark Drachten-Azeven; a partnership between Smallingerland and Opsterland.
