Opsterland Coalition Agreement: ‘In Klear Lûd’
Opsterlands Belang and FNP Opsterlân are proud to present their plans for 2026–2030 in the coalition agreement titled “In Klear Lûd.”

Coalition negotiator Maria le Roy officially presented the coalition report and the 2026–2030 coalition agreement to Mayor Andries Bouwman, in his capacity as chair of the city council. You can download the agreement at the bottom of this page.
Party leaders Harm de Jong (FNP) and Jaco de Jong (Opsterlands Belang) are “proud” that the agreement is finalized. “It is an agreement with realistic ambitions that focus on feasible solutions,” says Harm de Jong. “Community and traditions go hand in hand with innovation and our well-being.”
Realistic and decisive
The prospective aldermen are looking forward to the next four years. “The residents of Opsterland have made their voices heard loud and clear,” says prospective Alderman Oosterwoud (Opsterlands Belang). “They want a government that listens to them and looks at what residents really need. We are convinced that with this agreement, we are responding to that clear message.”
“We are committed to trust and want to actively involve our unique villages in policy-making,” says Bert Koonstra (FNP). “What happens in the villages is essential to the quality of life in Opsterland. So we must support and facilitate the local councils and volunteers wherever possible.”
Marcel van Opzeeland (Opsterlands Belang) is continuing his work as Alderman with great energy. “We are tackling major challenges in areas such as housing, the countryside, energy, and rising costs. With realistic and effective policies, we aim to make significant progress on these difficult issues.”
Appointment of new aldermen
The aldermen will be officially appointed on June 23, 2026. At the same time, the city council will bid farewell to the outgoing aldermen Rob Jonkman, Libbe de Vries, and Durk Durksz.
