Construction of MFC De Finne in Beetsterzwaag officially begins

Construction of the new multifunctional center (MFC) De Finne in Beetsterzwaag has officially begun. On Thursday, January 29, this was celebrated with a festive groundbreaking ceremony, despite the snow that fell that morning. The contractor therefore handed out warm hats and mittens to the children, which came in very handy. What had been a plan on paper for years is now becoming a reality.

The new MFC will be built on the grounds of VV De Sweach and will accommodate the school, childcare center, and soccer club. This will create a lively environment, both during the day and in the evenings, where children can learn, play, and participate in sports, and where athletes can optimally prepare for competitions.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, brother and sisters Tyme, Imke, and Fenne presented the contractor with three time capsules on behalf of the soccer club, the school, and the daycare center, filled with drawings and wishes made by the children themselves. These time capsules will be placed in the building, which is intended to last for fifty years.

Friso Bouwgroep from Sneek is responsible for the construction, together with D&W Elektrotechniek from Veendam. The building was designed by KHV Architecten. MFC De Finne marks the start of a new era for Beetsterzwaag: a place where children can make memories, develop, and where athletes can come together.
