Proof of Dutch citizenship
A proof of Dutch citizenship shows that you have the Dutch nationality. This may sometimes be necessary when applying for a job or moving abroad, for example. A proof of Dutch citizenship is an extract from the basic registration of personal data (BRP) and can be requested online. You can also stop by the Public Center.

Requirements
You can apply for a proof of Dutch citizenship if:
- You have the Dutch nationality.
- You are registered in the municipality of Opsterland.
- Are you no longer registered in the Netherlands? Then you can apply to the embassy or consulate for a Declaration of Possession of Dutch Citizenship.
