Zoning
Spatial plans define how, for example, a village, new residential area or the rural area should look in the future. An important spatial plan is the zoning plan. A zoning plan indicates where can be built and how land and buildings can be used. In the plan you can find out where homes, stores, businesses, roads, recreational areas and the like are allowed.

For example, if you want to build or start a business, you can see the rules for the plot in the zoning plan. This will tell you immediately whether your plans are possible. Do your plans not fit within the rules of the zoning plan? Then you can obtain permission for your plans through a spatial planning procedure (departing from the zoning plan).
