Do you have a disability or impairment? If so, you may be eligible for a disabled parking permit. This Map allows you to park in a disabled parking space. The Map is valid in most European countries. There are three types of parking cards: the driver card, the passenger card and the institution card.

Requirements

You are eligible for the driver's disabled parking permit (GPK-B) if you meet at least the following Requirements :

  • You are a driver or passenger of a motor vehicle on more than two wheels or a moped.
  • You have a demonstrable walking disability of a long-term nature due to a condition or disability.
  • You can cover less than 100 continuous meters independently on foot with usual walking aids or you are permanently wheelchair-bound.
  • You have been medically examined by a designated physician. (There is no need for a medical examination if the municipality already has sufficient records). 

You are eligible for the disabled passenger parking permit (GPK-P) if you meet at least the following Requirements :

  • You have a demonstrable walking disability of a long-term nature due to a condition or disability.
  • You can cover less than 100 continuous meters independently on foot with usual walking aids or you are permanently wheelchair-bound.
  • You need continuous driver assistance to be transported from door to door. This must be the case for at least six months.
  • You have been medically examined by a designated physician. (There is no need for a medical examination if the municipality already has sufficient information).

  • 1 clear passport photo, the passport photo should be no more than 6 months old

Details

The disabled parking card for (AWBZ) institutions is specifically intended for the transportation of residents. In this way, institutions can provide collective transportation and no longer have to apply for a Map for each resident individually.

Cost of disabled parking card (GPK).

The costs (fees) of the GPK are:

  • € 33.00 first application for GPK
  • € 16.00 extending the GPK

When you pick up the GPK, you must pay this amount (by PIN only).

First application for a GPK

Are you applying for a GPK for the first time? Then a medical examination is always required. 

Medical examination costs

  • €48.00 medical examination

An independent medical examiner from Argonaut will conduct the medical examination. After sending or handing in the 'Application for a disabled parking card (GPK)', and paying for the medical examination, you will be notified when the medical examination will take place.

Paying medical research

You can transfer the amount of €48.00 to:

  • Please include in the description: GPK + your name.

Medical advice

Based on the medical examination, the medical examiner will advise the municipality whether or not you need a GPK. You will be notified of this by the municipality.

Renewal of your GPK

Are you applying for an extension of the GPK? In most cases, no new medical examination is required. Is a new medical examination necessary? Then you will be informed.
