Sept. 3, 2024: Board of B&W requests credit from city council for investigation of Ikenhiem site
The Board of B&W intends to acquire the Ikenhiem care location of ZuidOostZorg and temporarily use it as a transit location for status holders. Status holders are people who have applied for asylum in the Netherlands and subsequently received a residence permit. The Ikenhiem care location will become vacant due to new construction.
Last July 4, the municipality organized a walk-in meeting in Beetsterzwaag about the intention to acquire Ikenhiem. The municipality now wants to investigate whether the property could be suitable as a transit location for status holders. In order to finance that investigation, the college is requesting credit from the city council. This will be done through a council proposal that will be discussed during two council meetings.
Following city council meetings
The council proposal requesting credit from the college will be on the agenda at two council meetings. First at the orientation council meeting Sept. 16 and then at the decision-making council meeting Sept. 30.
