Questions and contact about parenting and growing up
On this page you will find more information about contact options and your rights regarding objections, complaints, filing requirements and AVG, among other things.
If you have questions about parenting and/or growing up, you might want to check the Internet at the following places. A good website on parenting and growing up www.opvoeden.nl. www.opvoedinformatie.nl may also be of interest.
Can't find a good and reliable answer to your question about your child's health on the Internet? Or do you continue to have doubts? Then ask your question to youth health care. For questions about children up to 4 years old you can contact the GGD Fryslan.
If this does not help, or if something else is going on, please contact the Opsterland Area Team.
Questions? This is the route
- As soon as you have a question about parenting, growing up or participating in society, you can ask the area team of the municipality of Opsterland.
- During the first meeting, an access worker reviews with you what you are up against and what your question is. What are the possible solutions? Where do you need support?
- But we also consider what you can do yourself and what people around you (such as family and friends) can help you with. During the interview, the access worker also explains what the follow-up looks like. How long this follow-up will take depends on your situation. After all, every person and every request for help is different. Sometimes it is necessary to have more conversations or do further research.
ID check
We ask that you bring valid identification with you on your first visit. During a home visit, please remember to have a valid ID ready. The municipality is required by law to establish the identity of persons to whom the municipality provides a service. This also applies to people who report to the municipality with a request for help. Therefore, residents are asked for a valid proof of identity, as referred to in Article 1 of the Compulsory Identification Act.
How do you prepare for the first interview?
It may be pleasant for you not to have the conversation with the area team alone. You can therefore invite other people to the meeting who know you and your problems well and can think along about solutions. Think for example of family, neighbors and friends. Or an independent client supporter. These people can also help you with the next steps you want to take.
Then what happens?
After the investigation (the interviews), the area team member makes a report. We call this the Frisian support plan. We ask you to read this support plan carefully and to respond to it. After all, this support plan is the basis for the follow-up when (specialist) assistance is needed.
Independent client support
A client support worker is happy to think along with you. For example, if you want to arrange help or support and you do not know how to do so or where to turn. An independent client support worker is free of charge.
When arranging for help or support, a client advocate can:
- help to list your questions and desires
- help prepare conversations
- going along to interviews
- Thinking along about arrangements for the help you receive
- Thinking along if you can't work it out with an organization

Objecting
Do you disagree with a decision made by the municipality? Then you can file an objection.
The objection procedure is slightly different from the complaint procedure. You can file a complaint if you are not satisfied with the conduct of a municipal official. You can file an objection if you disagree with a decision made by the municipality. It concerns a decision that has direct negative consequences for you. https://www.opsterland.nl/bezwaar-maken
Complaint Resolution
Are you not satisfied with our work or behavior? For example, you feel that we have not informed you properly or that an appointment is not carried out quickly enough. Perhaps you believe that an employee of the municipality did not treat you properly. Report your complaint to us. Talking helps
First, of course, it is important to keep talking to each other. So first try to talk out your problems with the official you believe is responsible. Often a mistake is easily corrected. Sometimes there is a misunderstanding. A good conversation can already eliminate your problem.
Can't find a solution in a conversation? Then you can file a complaint with us. https://www. opsterland.nl/klacht-indienen
If you feel that this is not enough, you can also make use of the trust persons of Jeugdstem; Jeugdstem is there for you: let yourself be heard
File duty
Article 7:454 of the Civil Code lays down the care provider's file obligation. This article stipulates that the care provider must set up a file relating to the treatment of the patient. Of course, we discuss this with you in advance. We record your data only when necessary to find an answer to your question. We share your data only when relevant and necessary for the assistance to be provided. We act in accordance with the Youth Act and the AVG.
