The municipal council will meet on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in the council chamber of the town hall in Beetsterzwaag. You are welcome to attend the meeting in the council chamber, but due to the limited capacity of the public gallery, you must register with the Municipal Clerk’s Office. There is room for thirty people. 

The agenda for the decision-making council meeting follows on from the exploratory council meetings of December 15 and January 12, 2026. The items for approval will be dealt with first. These items will not be debated further. They have already been prepared and discussed. Only voting will take place during the meeting. The items for discussion will still be debated, followed by a vote.

    On March 10, the municipality of Opsterland closed a warehouse in Hemrik in connection with a drug offense. Hard drugs were found in the building on February 20. The building will be closed for 12 months.
