Many students have a part-time job to pay for their education (full-time or part-time). Students with a structural medical disability are sometimes unable to earn extra income. For them, there is the study allowance. This provides a helping hand so that they can still pursue an education.

You can apply for a study allowance usingyour DigiD at.

Documents required by the municipality:

  • valid ID;
  • proof of student finance or student allowance (WTOS);
  • proof of enrollment in a training program;
  • statement from an expert confirming that you have astructuralmedical disability.

Requirements

To apply for a study allowance, you mustRequirements allRequirements :

  • you are 15 years of age or older;
  • You are enrolled in a full-time or part-time program for which you receive student financing or a student allowance (WTOS);
  • Due to astructuralmedical limitation, you are unable to work alongside your studies.
  • you do not receive benefits from the UWV (e.g., Wajong, WIA);
  • you will not receive any income to cover your living expenses.
