Redevelopment site De Trime to start

A bat tower has been built on the site of the former elementary school De Trime (De Wissel) in Beetsterzwaag. This is the start of the construction of about 24 life-proof homes on this site.

We are building 1,000 homes in Opsterland until 2035

We are pleased that the project on the site of the old elementary school can now begin. With the construction of these 24 homes, we are taking an important step in our housing project.

It finen fan in geskikte wenning is net altyd maklik. Therefore the municipality is working on the realization of housing for all target groups, from young to old. The libbensrinbestindige wenningen oan De Wissel binne dêr ûnderdiel fan."

We protect the bats on the property

The chimney of the old school was a maternity home for bats. Therefore, we built a bat tower. This way the bats have a new home.

Alderman Durk Durksz: "The tour is a dual solution for the protection of the flearmûzen and makes housing construction possible. Flearmûzen binne ek ynwenners fan Opsterlân en hawwe in wichtige rol yn it ekologysk systeem. It is moai to see that in this way wenningbou and it fersterkjen fan bioferkaat go hân yn hân."
